Southwater and Shipley Neighbourhood Plan Area Consultation

Southwater Parish Council and Shipley Parish Council have agreed to progress a joint neighbourhood plan.
In line with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations General 2012 (as amended), both parish councils have submitted a joint application for the designation of a neighbourhood plan area comprising the whole of Southwater Parish and the whole of Shipley Parish.

Regulation 5 requires that an area application submitted to the local planning authority must include:
a map which identifies the area to which the application relates
a statement explaining why this area is considered appropriate to be designated as a neighbourhood area; and
the organisation or body making the area application is a relevant body for the purposes of section 61G of the 1990 Act.
Horsham District Council is inviting comments on the proposed designation. The consultation runs from 19 June 2026 to 5:00pm on 7 August 2026 (for 7 weeks).
