Southwater Parish Council has continued to work with West Sussex County Council to progress the proposed reduction of the 40mph speed limit to 30mph at the north and south ends of Worthing Road. Please read the post for updates.

Horsham District Council wants to know residents’ views on how it can work to improve air quality across the Horsham District.

A consultation on the Community Governance Review (CGR) for the whole district is now open and residents are encouraged to take part. The consultation is open now and will close on 22 June 2026.

Building on the commitment to continuous partnership working, Southwater Parish Council has formally applied to Horsham District Council for the designation of a joint Southwater & Shipley Neighbourhood Plan Area following a positive resolution with neighbouring Shipley Parish Council in April 2026.

On 25 March 2026 the Government confirmed it is delaying its decision on how local government should change across Sussex.

At an Extraordinary Council Meeting on 17 December 2025, Southwater Parish Council resolved to proceed with a “Full Review” of the Southwater Neighbourhood Plan, including housing allocations.
