Temporary Closure of part of Downs Link (Public Bridleway No 3568) - 8 June 2026

West Sussex County Council has issued a temporary closure for Downs Link, to allow for surface improvement works. The closure is being carried out under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

• Date: from 8 June 2026

• Duration: Up to 21 days. The contractor hopes to leave the path safe for public use during the evenings and weekends.

• Closed Section: Between Southwater Sports Club and the Bax Castle

• Works: Surface improvement works.

Please note:

• There is no alternative route available using the Rights of Way network.

• Whilst the contractor hopes to leave the path safe for public use during evenings and weekends, there may be times when this is not possible.
