Southwater Parish Council is delighted to announce that the village has been awarded Silver Gilt in this year's South & South East in Bloom competition, marking an impressive achievement in our very first year of entering the awards.

No Mow May is nationwide campaign, started by the charity Plantlife, and encourages people to put away the mower for the entire month of May to allow wildflowers and grasses to thrive.

Last Friday, we delivered a very popular tree training session on how to identify and record ancient, veteran and notable trees as part of the Woodland Trust Ancient Tree Inventory project, in assistance with Horsham Green Spaces.

The main breeding season for nesting birds usually runs throughout March to August each year. Nearly all nesting birds are protected by law, but we should protect them regardless.
