The Recycling and Waste Team at West Sussex County Council is delighted to announce the extension of its partnership with food rescue charity UKHarvest until April 2026. Over the past two and a half years, the initiative has hosted seven Community Food Hubs, running monthly in every district and borough across West Sussex.
These child-friendly hubs are open to all residents and are designed to reduce food waste by redistributing surplus food. For a small voluntary donation, visitors can bring their own bags and collect a wide variety of food items that would otherwise go to waste.
In addition to food distribution, each hub offers recipe ideas and hosts information stands on topics including waste prevention, wellbeing, and support from Citizens Advice.
