New Dog Waste Litter Bin Coming to Charlock Way Open Space

Southwater Parish Council has commissioned the procurement and installation of a new dog waste litter bin for the Charlock Way Open Space. This development comes after extensive correspondence, numerous requests, and invaluable feedback from residents.

Over the past couple of years, SPC have persistently advocated for an additional dog litter bin, but unfortunately, we were constrained by the capacity and available resources of Horsham District Council (HDC) to incorporate more bins into their collection schedules. However, we are delighted to share that HDC has now agreed to install the new bin and include it in their regular collections. Installation date expected to be in the next couple of weeks.

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our community's environment, Southwater Parish Council is also actively investigating two other potential locations for additional dog waste litter bins following input from our Litter Wardens and extensive requests from residents. These areas include the Cripplegate Corner Bus Stop and in closer proximity to the Downs Link Play Area. While we are dedicated to pursuing these opportunities, we must operate within the criteria set by HDC for placement of bins and with their existing capacity to add more bins.

We appreciate the patience and understanding shown by all residents throughout this process. If you are in approval to adding bins to the two locations above, please let us know so we can inform HDC of the community support.
