Southwater Christmas Festival
Saturday, 4th December 2010 - 10am - 5.30 pm in Lintot Square, Southwater
Father Christmas will be arriving in style this year accompanied by Christ's Hospital School Band and Mark 'Rhino' Smith who you will recognise from popular TV series Gladiators and who is appearing in the film Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Rhino can also be seen playing the Genie in Aladdin atthe Pavillion Theatre Worthing.
Father Christmas will be in his grotto for all the children to come and see and there will be market stalls, children's fun fair, magic shows, arts and crafts, local group demonstrations and live entertainment to suit the whole family.
New to this year's event THE SOUTHWATER STAGE. Comparing the events will be Paul Leyshon (ex Holyoaks actor and Children's TV presenter)
Live music and entertainment from:
Madeira Drive (Acoustic) - formerly known as Everafta this year's Horsham Battle of the Band winners.
Wishful Thinking - Formerly known as Dark Star back by popular demand playing the best hits from the 60's and 70's
The Festive Season - Presented by Southwater Community Methodist Church, an insight into the Christmas story through drama and music.
Superlungs (Acoustic) - Just tipped as ones to watch 2010 by iTunes this three piece Brighton based Rock band have alredy appeared on albums alongside Paul McCartney and David Gilmour with their own debut release entering the iTunes essentials charter at No.21 before climbing to No. 19
Lance from Darling Waste (Acoustic) - All the way from New York, currently on his UK tour, for fans of Fall Our Boy and Panic At The Disco.
To end the event there will be a candle lit procession by local schools to Lintot Square, where Father Christmas and guests will turn on the Southwater Christmas lights with carol singing round the Christmas tree accompanied by the Horsham Youth concert band.
