Double the size of your village? – have your say
The Plans
Central Government has stated the amount of housing it expects each region to build in the future. Horsham District Council has to decide where it can build its allocation of houses, which is 13,000 for the whole District. This process has now started, via the Core Strategy Review.
Implications
Currently Southwater has a population of 10,600 living in around 3,100 houses. One of the proposals of the Core Strategy Review is that another 2,750 houses are built in the village by 2026. This will effectively double its size.
