Horsham District Food & Drink Festival
4 September to 3 October 2010
We are still looking for more and more businesses to come forward to participate in the 8th Horsham District Food & Drink Festival, the 4-week, spectacular showcase of the finest local produce from across the Horsham District.
We wrote to you a few weeks back as we need your help in identifying eligible businesses, or those you think may be eligible to participate. You know your local area better than anyone and we want to ensure that as many businesses as possible are given the opportunity to participate. Do you know of any local food or drink producers, breweries, vineyards, hotels, pubs, restaurants, cafés, bistros, farms, farm shops, farmers markets, garden centres or local produce retailers in your area? Whilst we maintain a food and drink database, it’s a huge task keeping it up to date as businesses across the District are ever-changing and some of them are particularly hard to reach and might not shout about their local produce offer.
We need their contact details from you so we can get in touch and offer them the opportunity to be a part of this fantastic event.
There are strict criteria for entry, which must be adhered to as the whole emphasis of the Festival is on local produce from our District.
A participating business:
Must be located in the Horsham District (or on the periphery) and be a local food or drink producer, sell local produce or use local produce as 'ingredients' in food preparation / meals.
Make a genuine Festival offer to customers. This could be a special offer or an organised event connected with local produce during the Festival month.
In return, businesses will receive a FREE 100 word entry in 15,000 copies of a full-colour programme, distributed far and wide. The Festival will feature on the ‘British Food Fortnight’ web site – celebrating the diverse local food offer across Britain. There will be hundreds of posters produced, a brand new Festival website created, press and radio promotion, plus the additional elements businesses can add to let their customers know about their involvement. Copies of the Festival programme and posters are provided for businesses to display.
Thank you to those of you who have been in touch, your input is much appreciated.
Together we can make this year’s Festival bigger and better than ever before and really put the Horsham District and its rich offer of local produce on the map. We look forward to hearing from you with any business contacts as soon as possible.
Best regards
