I want updates on:

Our Aims:

We want to build and support strong, active and inclusive communities across the Parish to encourage people to take an active part in making decisions, delivering and influencing services across the Parish.

SOUTHWATER NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Local residents are very welcome to call in at the Southwater Community Police Office in Lintot Square to chat to any of our volunteers or to the PCSO on any aspect of personal safety and security.

As at 31st August 2007 we had 38 schemes in operation in the Southwater area covering over 1,000 homes. A list of streets covered under the scheme is held in the Community Police Office.

The constitution of the Southwater Area Neighbourhood Watch Association was formally adopted on 24th August 2006 at an inaugural meeting of interested parties comprising volunteers from the Southwater Community Police Office and the Local Community Support Officers (PCSO’s).

Grants were provided by Sussex Police and Sussex Neighbourhood Watch Federation to assist us with initial setting up costs and to cover the purchase of security products such as personal alarms, door and window alarms and ultra violet (UV) marker pens.

How to set up a Southwater Neighbourhood Watch scheme:

Contact PCSO Damian Cecil via the Southwater Community Police Office.

Ideally we need two Co-ordinators per road, so when one is away, or on holiday, there is always a NHW contact point for local residents living in the road and a contact point for the Police to get in touch with should the need arise. At other times the two Co-ordinators can work together.
