VIEW OF DABBLERS SAILING ON SOUTHWATER LAKE

 ABOUT US

The Southwater Dabblers sail model yachts and boats at Southwater Country Park lake on most Sundays and Friday afternoons. The Group set up a wide range of organised, model boat sailing activities, sporting and leisure down at Southwater Country Park lake. There are exciting races, set up for those who'd prefer a friendly challenge.

Alternatively, one can relax and enjoy, sailing a scaled yacht or model boat, at one’s leisure, with the confidence of knowing, that if the boat decides to get stuck in the reeds, then there is a fully manned, rescue boat provided, on hand, to help.

The Southwater Dabblers Model Boat Club has an extensive website, http.//dabblers.wikispaces.com with a full diary of events page. The website should prove quite invaluable, to those who are interested in sailing, learning to sail and/or racing, model yachts/boats.

ONE METRE RACING

 THAMES BARGE RACING

We publish reviews on races, with some, very interesting away visits reviewed, too.

We also produce a quarterly magazine for every member, that holds further reviews, members boat building projects and future dates for upcoming events.

In the past, we have held our wonderful, two day event, Summer Regattas, at Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens, which is always, respectfully admired, by the general public, for our particular, unusual, unique and beautiful, hand-built boats and water-craft, seen gently sailing on the water.

SUMMER BOATING REGATTA AT LEONARDSLEE LAKES AND GARDENS

Our Open day is held at Southwater Country Park Lake, in the summer months, which proves very popular. Last year we helped promote, The Sussex Air Ambulance (The flying Angels) and raised £ 700.

Our members include every walk of life, from plumbers, airport staff, to electricians, carpenters, engineers, pilots and a police officer.
